Introduction

EDAcation is a learning environment for digital hardware design. Our goal is to make it easy for people to learn and practice digital hardware design, regardless of their background or experience level.

Commercial toolchains such as Quartus Prime and Vivado are powerful, but they can be difficult to set up and use, especially for beginners. Their UIs are often complex and overwhelming, downloading and installing them can be time-consuming, and they may require a license or account to use. Beginners often spend more time wrestling with the toolchain than actually learning digital hardware design.

EDAcation aims to reduce these barriers by providing a simple and intuitive interface. Installation is quick and easy, and it allows users to quickly synthesize, simulate and visualize their designs in just a few clicks. By providing a more accessible and user-friendly environment, we hope to show people that digital hardware design can be fun and rewarding, and that anyone can learn it with the right tools and resources.
